Equal Temperament is a tuning that features all notes to to 0 (zero) - neither flat nor sharp. This set-up favors playing melodies which require the individual notes to be in tune. The Golden Melody is tune to Equal Temperament becuase, as the name implies, it is designed to play melodies on.
