Sonny Terry Estate Harmonica - Hohner's Echo Tremelo - # 2-3 Key of C & G
Hohner Echo Tremelo - Bell Metal Reeds
Key of C - G
Original Box Not Included
This is the only Echo Tremelo in Sonny's collection. It is a double sided tremelo with the key of C on one side and the key of G on the other. I have seen lots of these harmonicas over the years and it is easy to tell when they have been played extensively. The paint or finish is worn off the front of the comb which exposes the wood comb. I don't know how much Sonny's played the tremelo harp compared to the diatonics, but when he did, he played this one. The covers have a nice patina from his hands and lips. Both covers are slightly crushed on the treble end of the harmonica which has forced the cover to overlap the reed plates slightly. The harmonica is still playable but I would say this is a show piece more than a harp you want to play.
In addition to the actual estate harmonica, all purchases will also include the following:
- A Certificate of Authenticity from the Sonny Terry Estate LLC.
- An attractive Shadow Box Display Case with a brief Biography of Sonny with which to display your estate harmonica.
- A stock black and white photo of either Sonny alone or Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee – suitable for framing. These photos were provided by Hohner and were the photos that Sonny might hand out at performances. (Picture frame not included.)
