Sonny Terry Estate Harmonica - USA Navy Band #52-53 Key of G
Hohner US Navy Band?ÿ
Key of G
Origianl Box Not Included
This is one of only two US Navy Band harmonicas in Sonny's collection. This is a highly collectible harmonica. The US Navy Band is the predecessor to the Golden Melody which was introduced in the 1970's. So this harmonica was likely made in the late 1960s or very early 1970s. Even if this harmonica was not owned by Sonny Terry it would still be a very collectable harp. You just don't see many of them around anymore. There are definite signs of use with the covers being slightly tarnished, scratched and crushed. There is a little bit of dried up saliva in the comb. It plays surprisingly well. This is a rare harp indeed.
The harmonica will be shipped in an attractive shadow box display case, and will include an 8X10 glossy black and white photo of Sonny - suitable for framing. An individually signed Certificate of Authenticity and Bill of Sale will also be included.
