Adam Gussow's notes:
- Squeezed but shiny cover plates
- Gap between cover plates and reed plates
- Plays well
There are two key indicators that Sonny played the harps in his collection. One is tarnish on the covers, which I imagine would take a long time. The other is the backs of the covers being crushed from Sonny's hands. This harmonica does not show any real tarnishing but the covers are crushed at the back to the point of almost touching the reed plates. The gap between the covers and reed plate that Adam mentions is due to one of the cover plate nails being loose. It is a very minor issue which can be fixed or left as is. It does not affect the playability of the harp because when you hold the harp in your hands the gap closes making the harp airtight. This is a nice harmonica for display or playing.
The harmonica will be shipped in an attractive shadow box display case, and will include an 8X10 glossy black and white photo of Sonny - suitable for framing. An individually signed Certificate of Authenticity and Bill of Sale will also be included.
