Sonny Terry Estate Harmonica - Marine Band # 208-09
Marine Band 1896 # 208-09
Key of A
Adam Gussow's Notes: "Very light wear. Cover plates slightly squeezed. Nice harp. Excellent."
This is one of the "cleaner" harps that I have seen so far in Sonny's collection. It does not have much tarnish on the covers but it has clearly been played. The covers are slightly crushed which doesn't happen overnight. I have no way of knowing - I can only speculate but if I was to hazzard a guess I would say that this is a harp that Sonny played toward the end of his career. It plays pretty much like a new harp. All the reeds play freely and the harp is in good tune. This harp has a lot of life left in it. Bottom line, if you are looking for a Sonny Terry harp that you can play, this is a good choice. You won't be inhaling any chunks of dried up mouth juices.
This harmonica does not include the original box.
The harmonica will be shipped in an attractive shadow box display case, a framed 8X10 glossy black and white photo of Sonny and an individually signed Certificate of Authenticity.
