Sonny Terry Estate Harmonica - Golden Melody #73 Key of C
Hohner Golden Melody
Key of C
Original Box Included
This is one of the harmonicas that the estate sent to Adam Gussow for appraisal. His notes are as follows: Some wear. Top cover plate a little squeezed in.?ÿ Blow chords a little sour. 9 + 10 holes are uneven. Fair.
This harp shows visible signs of use. The covers are not tarnished which is seen on many of the other harmonicas in the collection. All the reeds play freely so none of them are caked with gunk or are broken etc. I don't know what Adam meant by his comments about the 9 & 10 holes. They seem to play fine to me. Also, with regard to the chords sounding sour that is typical of a Golden Melody since it is tuned to Equal Temperament. The chords on Golden Melodys always sound a little rough as compared to a Marine Band tune to 7-Limit Just Intonation. If you are interested in a Sonny Terry harp that will look great in your collection and that you can also play, this is a good choice.
The harmonica will be shipped in an attractive shadow box display case, and will include an?ÿ8X10 glossy black and white photo of Sonny - suitable for framing. An individually signed Certificate of Authenticity and Bill of Sale will also be included.
